Under The Rain

I used to feel like I was always under my own personal rain cloud;
                      The sun would never s h i n e on me,
                                       & I saw things as ha|lf e m p t y,
                       Rather then even trying to see the possibility.

I used to keep my head d o w n,
                        Not looking at anyone, anything.
                                               L o s t  in my own suffering.

Everyone always stayed away;
                           Not because they wanted to,
                   But because I would p u s h them away.

Yet somehow,
        When you came around,
                         & Started to stick around,
            I didn't want you to l e a v e.

                     But instead of taking the rain a w a y,
                        You picked me up off the ground,
           & Carried me into the perfect storm.

           Smell the fresh sent of h o p e in the wind.
       Do you see how close we are?
This is the farthest I'll ever be."

Then, you leaned down and k i s s e d me,
           & You took my b r e a t h away.

So with a smile,
       You taught me that,
        Being under the r a i n
            & Standing in the middle of a p e r f e c t  s t o r m
             Within the comfort of your love's arms,
